Repair the area, not just the symptom
Repair makes sense when most of the wall is still doing its job and a defined area has failed — impact damage, a section that has debonded, or an area that has taken water from a failed detail above. The judgement call is how far the failure actually extends, which is why we sound the wall around the visible damage before quoting a patch size.

- Sounding the wall to find the true extent of the failure
- Loose and debonded material cut back to a solid edge
- Lath and substrate checked and made good where exposed
- Rebuilt in coats to the same thickness as the surrounding wall
- Texture matched on a sample area before the full patch is finished
- Identification of what caused the failure, so it does not repeat
- Breathable coating over the repaired area
How the work runs
1. Find the real extent
Visible damage is usually smaller than the failed area. We sound around it so the repair covers what has actually let go.
2. Cut back and rebuild
Back to a sound edge, substrate made good, then rebuilt in coats to the same thickness as the wall around it.
3. Match and coat
Texture matched on a sample you approve, then coated so the repair is protected and blends into the elevation.
Stucco repair questions we get asked
Repair or replace the whole elevation?
If the failure is contained and the rest of the wall sounds solid, repair is the sensible answer. If tapping around the damage turns up hollow areas across the elevation, patching becomes a rolling cost and restoration is the better value. We will tell you which we are seeing.
Will the patch be visible?
A well-matched repair is very hard to find once coated. Texture matching is most of that work, and on anything facing the street we get your approval on a sample before finishing the full area.
Do you have to repaint the whole wall afterwards?
Not always, but often it gives the best result. Even a perfect texture match can show as a colour difference against a wall that has weathered for years. We will be straight with you about which option gives the finish you are expecting.
How quickly should I deal with damaged stucco?
Before winter, if water can get into the opening. A gap that takes water through a freeze and thaw cycle grows quickly, and what was a modest repair in October can be a much bigger one by April.
