JM PAINTING & STUCCO - GREAT WORKS ENDURE OVER TIME!

Interior Painting in Chicago & the North Shore

Clean cut lines, floors and furniture properly covered, and a home you can still live in while the work happens. Licensed and insured.

Repainting a home you are still living in

Interior jobs tend to go wrong in the same few places: dust that ends up on everything, tape lines that bleed at the ceiling, and a room that stays unusable for days longer than promised. Our interior work is organised around the parts you actually notice — how well your floors and furniture are covered, how straight the line is where wall meets trim, and whether the room is usable again at the end of the day.

What is included

How the work runs

1. Free consultation

We walk the rooms with you, check the surfaces for repairs, confirm colours and sheens, and put the scope in writing before anything starts.

2. Prep and paint

Protection goes down first. Then repairs, caulking, priming and finish coats, working room by room so the rest of the house stays yours.

3. Final walkthrough

We go through every room with you in daylight, touch up anything you point out, and leave the space clean and back in use.

Interior painting questions we get asked

How long does interior painting take?

A single room is usually one to two days. A full floor of a house typically runs three to five working days, depending on how much repair work the walls need, how much trim is involved and how many colour changes there are. You get a schedule with the estimate.

Do I need to move out while you work?

No. We work room by room so the rest of the house stays usable, and we clean up at the end of each day rather than leaving the job open.

Do you move the furniture?

Yes. Furniture is moved to the centre of the room and covered before anything else happens. For very heavy, fragile or high-value pieces we agree the approach with you in advance.

What preparation is included in the price?

Filling nail holes, cracks and dents, sanding, caulking the gaps at trim and baseboards, and spot-priming. Preparation is where the finish actually comes from, so we do not quote it as an extra.

Can you match a colour that is already on the wall?

In most cases, yes. If you still have the original can we will work from that; otherwise we can colour-match from a small sample taken from an inconspicuous spot.

How many coats do you apply?

Two finish coats as standard. A dramatic colour change, bare drywall or a stained surface will need a primer coat first, and we will tell you that before you approve the estimate rather than after.

When can I put the room back together?

Walls are normally touch-dry within a couple of hours and ready for furniture the same evening. We will tell you room by room, since it depends on the product and the ventilation.

Do you paint ceilings and trim as well as walls?

Yes. Ceilings, trim, doors, casings and baseboards are all part of interior work. We can quote them together with the walls or separately, whichever you prefer.
