JM PAINTING & STUCCO - GREAT WORKS ENDURE OVER TIME!

Remodeling in Chicago & the North Shore

Interior remodeling by the same crew that finishes it — carpentry, drywall, surfaces and paint under one scope. Licensed and insured.

The finish is where remodels are judged

Nobody remembers how neat the framing was. What people live with afterwards is the line where the new wall meets the old ceiling, whether the trim returns properly at the corner, and whether the paint sits flat. Coming at remodeling from the finishing trades means those details are planned from the start rather than negotiated at the end.

What we take on

How the work runs

1. Scope and schedule

We walk the space, agree exactly what is included and what is not, and give you a written scope with a schedule you can plan your life around.

2. Build and finish

Dust control and protection first, then the work in sequence. We keep the rest of the house usable and clean up at the end of each day.

3. Final walkthrough

We go through the space with you in daylight, list anything you flag and close it out before we call the job finished.

Remodeling questions we get asked

Can we stay in the house during the work?

For most interior remodels, yes. We seal off the work area, control the dust and keep the rest of the house usable. If a stage genuinely makes that impractical we will tell you in advance rather than on the morning.

How do you handle dust?

Containment at the work area, protection on floors and routes through the house, and clean-up at the end of each day. Drywall dust travels a long way if nobody plans for it, which is why we plan for it.

Do you handle the trades or do we?

Tell us what the project involves and we will be straight about which parts we take on directly and which need a licensed specialist. What we will not do is take responsibility for something outside our trade and work it out later.

What happens if something turns up once the wall is open?

We stop and show you, with photographs, before doing anything about it. Older houses hold surprises, and the way that gets handled is what separates a good remodel from a bad one.

Photographs of our own remodeling projects are being added to this page shortly. In the meantime, see our recent projects.

Tell us about your project

We will come out, talk through what you have in mind and put a written scope together — no charge and no obligation.
